About Creativebias
Creative Industries Enterprise Development
Creativebias is a branded service programme of the Music Development Agency (MDA) Ltd, a company limited by guarantee. The main aim of the programme is to increase the successful development of creative industries enterprise by improving the quality and distribution of business support and skills development opportunities to entrepreneurs in the creative industries sector. The programme also aims to increase business ownership by people from groups and communities currently under-represented, and is dedicated to innovation in the application of new technologies to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of creative enterprise support.
The "BIAS" (Business Incubation and Acceleration Systems) model has its origins in research sponsored by Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts under the ESF ADAPT programme during 1998-2000. In the period since then it has been developed and field-tested through a series of escalating pilot demonstrators. The latest stages of development are supported with finance from the DTI Phoenix Development Fund "Building On The Best" programme, the HEFCE Higher Education Innovation Fund (HEIF), the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the European Social Fund (ESF), as well as cash and inkind contributions from the private sector and an increasing proportion of income generated from a range of commercial services.
Equal Opportunities Statement:
Creativebias is committed to providing equality for all, encouraging mutual respect, and promoting the benefits of diversity. No entrepreneur, trainer, learner or colleague will be discriminated against on grounds of their gender, disability, race, age, sexual orientation, religion or belief. The materials produced and learning methods promoted will be monitored and reviewed regularly to ensure that no one will feel excluded.
